40 years of vintage and classic car restorations.

Celebrating 40 years of Sydney Vintage Car Restorations.

Riverstone 1996 - 2003

In 1996 Sydney Vintage Car Restorations moved to a smaller workshop on the corner of Riverstone Parade and Princes Street in the Riverstone industrial area. Gill and Sara worked hard to expand the business. During the first few years Gill and Sara employed two highly skilled tradesmen, Don and Nigel, to help with the increasing work load.

Gill appeared in Australian Classic Car Magazine for a restoration special Aug 1998.

In 1998, Gill and Sara’s eldest son Shannon began his apprenticeship with Gill and with Don as foreman. 1999 Don left SVCR and started his own restoration company in a neighbouring street. Gill and Sara’s youngest son Tim started his apprenticeship with SVCR in 2000. Both Shannon and Tim would complete their panel beating trade certificates and continue to work along side Gill and Sara. During the time at Riverstone, many restorations were completed on numerous makes and models of classic and vintage cars. SVCR also carried out manufacturing and repairs on Tangara train panels and specialist safety equipment for the state rail authority

In 2000 Gill and Sara purchased a weekender in Crookwell, located in the NSW Southern Tablelands. In 2002 Gill and Sara purchased a block of land in the new McIntosh Rd Crookwell industrial area. A purpose build workshop was built and the move to Crookwell commenced.
